Recently, we marked a significant milestone for our business, Quadrant’s 10-year anniversary.
This milestone has given us a valuable opportunity to reflect on just how far we’ve come. What began as a start-up venture by our directors Toby Anderson and James Gale has grown into a respected professional services firm supporting projects across Canterbury and the wider South Island.
Quadrant was built from the ground up. With no inherited client base and no shortcuts, Toby and James set out to create a surveying business grounded in accuracy, professionalism, and straight-talking advice. The early days required resilience, long hours, and a clear vision for what the company could become. That vision to deliver reliable work and build strong, lasting relationships remains at the heart of what we do today.
Over the past decade, we’ve had the privilege of contributing to a wide range of projects. From residential developments and subdivisions to complex commercial sites and rural land work, our team has helped shape communities throughout Canterbury and beyond. As the region has grown and evolved, so too have we by expanding our capability, investing in technology, and strengthening our expertise to meet increasingly diverse project demands.
What hasn’t changed is our commitment to doing things properly. Surveying underpins every successful development, and we take seriously the responsibility of providing information our clients can rely on with confidence. Clear communication, practical solutions, and attention to detail have been key drivers of our growth.
Of course, a business milestone like this is never about two individuals alone. Quadrant’s progress reflects the dedication of our team, past and present, who bring professionalism and pride to their work every day. It also reflects the trust placed in us by clients, consultants, contractors, and partners throughout the South Island. Many of those relationships span years, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to continue working alongside such capable people.
Ten years in business is something we’re proud of... not simply as a measure of time, but as a marker of steady, sustainable growth built on strong foundations.
As we look ahead, our focus remains clear: continue delivering high-quality services, support the development of our region, and build on the reputation that has carried us through our first decade.
The past ten years have laid the groundwork. The next chapter is already underway.
